Residential Design Build

We work from a model that is called "design-build", meaning that we work with you
through all phases of the project from conception to completion. We believe that for most
residential projects this approach is the most efficient and cost effective way to build, and
has many benefits over the popular “design-bid-build” process. We are happy to
collaborate with other professionals on design and building projects. However we believe
that when the design and building are separated and demarcated the result is a fractured
process and ultimately leads to an outcome that falls short of everyone’s expectations. We
find that when “master builder” and client have common goals, values, and intentions, the
result is an enjoyable and intimate process, and a product that everyone is proud of. We
have professional designers on our team and often hire and partner with outside architects
and professionals. Our principal, Michael Erkkinen, is also in the process of becoming
licensed as an architect, and is an accomplished building designer.
