2013 Treehouse
Welcome to summer of 2013. Earlier this summer we designed and built this treehouse, our first.
After studying various methods of attachment, we went with 1-1/2" SS threaded rods through the
trees and lumber spaced 3" from the trunk. The main tree is a 24" diameter ash and the crow's nest is
on an 18" sugar maple. The framing is weathered hemlock 6 x 6's, the siding is red cedar, the roof is
standing seam steel, and the railing is custom fabricated out of 3" aluminum tubing. The residents of
this project are currently 4 and 9 years old and are thoroughly enjoying it.
